Oh, I love Fall......the clearer, drier air, the bright beautiful colors, and that nip in the air! I am dragging out my suitcases full of wool sweaters and leather gloves.....so warm and cozy. The windows have been open for days...I love the smell of coffee and fresh air in a house. It always reminds me of my grandma Jessup's.
Here are some of the camillia pods and seeds we got this year and the wonderful dogwood tree by the guestroom window. Beautiful!
I am trying to rest today so I can enjoy some of this. The plaster men came and fixed huge cracks in every ceiling of the house. By the time they left, the entire house was covered in plaster dust and if that wasn't bad enough, they tried to clean up (the floors only...the rest was left for me to deal with) with my Dyson and clogged up the filter. Then they wiped up with wet rags! So my gorgeous hardwood floors were scoured!
It was so bad, I almost called ServicePro. But I did do the work by myself, numbed by narcotics, for three days running. (I know Mom, I did too much. When I started having wide awake dreams, I stopped!) I had to get it done because our neice stays with us on Wednesdays and Thursdays (because of her temp work location) and we had to turn on the heat. I couldn't have all that blowing around.
So anyway, I am trying to start recovering today. The last two rooms will just have to wait. This will put me out for weeks, I can't take it anymore! Luckily, I have my Dilly to keep me company while I am down.
And reading Umberto Eco's 'Baudolino' for something to do while I lie here. I have been trying to read (fiction and non fiction) about the Crusaders and the Muslims back in the beginning to understand how all this mess got started. I guess it started with Adam and Eve!
The Tecnis lenses are doing great. My vision is perfect for distance and near, and I wear some plus ones for computer work or sewing, etc. I have halos around lights still, but no worse than when I wore contacts, better actually, and that might go away with time. No residual laser correction needed, yeah!
Now I am going to take a nap.....
Hope you're feeling better and have been able to rest. Cute picture of Dillon!
